Parts of the Plant

Each part of a plant does different things.

     Roots: they absorb water and minerals from the soil.

     Stems: they conduct the water and minerals. Also, they hold on the plant.

     Leaf (singular) / Leaves (plural): they take in sunlight, water, air, and nutrients to make food for the plant.

     Flowers: they make seeds.

     Seeds: they contain new plants.
